Hi, First I want to thank you a lot for publishing this amazing book. As an engineering student and part time photographer, I was looking for something to improve my drawing skills. Your book Is just what I was looking for. By the way I always appreciated my “Magic The Gathering” cards for their illustrations ! So I want to thank you too for the influence you had on my “artistic” Vision.
Congrats for everything.
thanks John!
Jean-Sébastien – I appreciate the kind words! My new book Extreme Worlds will have more step-by-step material, including drawing and painting demos.
Hi again, I got your Extreme Worlds book and it is awesome. It will improve my vision for sure in arts. I am very glad I found your work in this vast world of art. Thanks again francis. I Wish you best with contracts, vision and everything that you cherish.

As an aspiring comic book artist i felt i needed some help with my mental block. I was walking thru barnes and nobles and came across ur extreme worlds book and i never looked back. Great read and good help with my tablet skills. Thank you Francis
thanks Sal!
Just picked up your book “Extreme Worlds” I have to say its a fantastic book, learning quite a few things from it that have changed my ways in doing concept art and the such. Thank you for writing such a helpful book.
@sander
whoops sorry my internet explorer translated everthing into dutch so I thought you where Dutch. But I wanted to thank you publishing youre two books. they help me a lot in my studies. I can’t wait for a new book.
Hi Francis, just letting you know, that I have both the books, have been living here in Sydney for about a year, trying to improve my drawing skills, while I work on the side.
Last week after about 4 months of waiting, I finally got “100 ways to Create…” and It has given me ALOT of valuable information!
I have also recently been expanding my female drawing techinques and I really, really wish to work with what I love and am best at doing, drawing!
Your books have really helped me ALOT and it was out of pure accident that I found Extreme Worlds, went through it quickly and told myself: “Well what the hell this is freaking awesome!”
I have always loved the scifi genre and hope to become to such an expert level very soon that I will be able to make a living out of drawing.
I am currently just drawing without any programs, hands on paper etc.
Thank you so much again for publishing your books and I look forward to buy more amazing and helpful books you will publish in the near future!
Oh and I freaking loved playing Magic the gathering when I was a teenager, freaking awesome art work on those cards!
Looking forward to see your future drawings!
Best regards – A fellow drawer
@Tom Traver
thanks Tom! it is my pleasure..
@sander
whoa crazy! thanks man, glad you enjoyed the books.
@Jean-Sébastien
thanks Jean-Sébastien!
@Robin
Hi Robin
Pencil and paper is the best way to start! Those were my only tools for the first 25-30 years of my life.
Hi
I have both your books and enjoyed them very much..
question.. I am sure I saw another book on Amazon which was available as pre-order but it is no longer listed.
Are you still working on another book ?
Thanks
Jay
@Jay
Hi Jay
I was but it’s on hold at the moment…
Hi Francis,
I’m really enjoying your work and looking to purchase yours books. Like yourself I have come from an architect background But after 8 years of study I never received no enjoyment. After researching this concept artist role it has become clear this is the job I would love doing,
I’m now in the process of trying to develop my existing skills of 3d design and rendering to help produce a portfolio. Have you got any advice or tips to help me develop my work to get recognized for a dream job? Also I’m used to sketch up and vray along with photoshop… Could I still use these programs in the industry or shall I learn more programs?
Would be great to hear from you.
Hi,
I’m really feeling the treatment you did for raydeen, galactus, and iron-man. And would love to purchase posters/prints of the whole series. Are they for sale anywhere? Thanks.
Thanks! I’d love to sell prints but they are all intellectual property I don’t have print rights for.
@Alpesh Mistry
Hi Alpesh
Both books talk a bit about the skills needed for concept art work. The Extreme Worlds book is more practical and also talks a bit about 3D. For an aspiring concept artist however I’d say concentrate on drawing and painting skills.
Love your books! I haven’t seen any updates in quite some time. Are you stiil in the art making business?
Thanks!
Man you’re awesome! You totally inspired me to get back into art. Never Give Up
Hello Francis Tsai, I find it extremely inspiring the way you have drawn imagery just by using your eyes alone. I have always had the passion towards digital art, but I unfortunately do not know how to sketch and which is why I feel let down at times due to my inability to do so. If you can kindly guide me how I can start from scratch and draw better. I would really appreciate your help and if you could also suggest which book I should purchase of yours that can help me in these beginning stages as well. And keep going! You are an awesome artist, and might I add that your architectural designs are also pretty awesome!
This is also my site, your input would be gladly appreciated, actually everyone’s input would be gladly appreciated
