This is a practice page from my sketchbook – it’s probably part of a comic book thing I had big plans to do.

box cover art

December 8th, 2005

Hehe – I’d forgotten about this one until today when I was griping to some peeps at work about art direction. I found a photo of the box cover art I did online. I guess the game is not coming out until next year some time.

cover art for "Fantastic Locations: Hellspike Prison" from Wizards of the Coast

This is actually a different version than what’s printed on the book. I prefer the head on this version.

Why does Wizards of the Coast have to remove my signature from my pieces when they publish their books? Just go ahead and leave it the hell alone.

A closeup shot of a giant atmosphere scrubber tower; these buildings house the infrastructure which creates, monitors and analyzes the self replicating nano-organic robotic bacteria which consume man-made hydrocarbons and other pollutants. The atmosphere scrubbers are placed at regular intervals throughout the countryside. The contaminants which are harvested from the atmosphere are then broken down and reformulated using other nanomolecular disassemblers designed for this purpose. The raw material is then used by nanoassemblers to create new substances, products and architecture.

Howdy. Here’s a link to a site about books regarding nanomolecular assemblers, owned by Robert Frietas, one of the main names in nanotechnology. A link also to his main site.

Robotics is the third technology (of GNR, or Genetics, Nanotechnology and Robotics) to undergo significant advancement during the 21st century. With AI-controlled robotics, internet integration, nanotechnology and biotech-influenced composites and materials, artificial, sentient entities have become an accepted part of the population. There are still a lot of “old school” semi-intelligent robots with the jobs no one else wants anymore.

Nanotecture – the use of self-replicating molecular nanoassemblers to pull particulate matter out of the air (smog) and reformulate them into human scaled, inhabitable structures according to AI-developed architectural/structural designs.

One downside is the ability of technicians working for terrorist organizations to reverse-engineer the process and figure out new and creative ways to wreak havoc in and around large population centers.
